Meeting with the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko

In the Palace of the Nation, the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held talks with the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.

During the negotiation, which took place in an atmosphere of openness and constructivism, the Heads of State discussed the current state of Tajikistan – Belarus cooperation and its development prospects.

The President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the President of the Republic of Belarus noted that cooperation between the two countries within the framework of the CIS has reached a high level and the successful holding of the meeting of the Commonwealth of Independent States Council of Heads of State in Dushanbe will yield good results to strengthen cooperation.

The sides expressed satisfaction from the steady development of bilateral relations between Tajikistan and Belarus at all levels and their favorable legal bases as well as exchanged views on the prospects of relations of the two states in the fields of trade and economy, industry, particularly the processing of agricultural goods, and scientific and cultural ties.

The sides attached great importance to strengthening relationship between business circles of Tajikistan and Belarus to create joint ventures in the agro-industrial complex and production of essentials.

It was noted the need to use the opportunities of the free economic zones of Tajikistan and Belarus to implement the developed plans related to the joint processing of meat and dairy products and it was expressed satisfaction with the progress of the joint project on the creation of gardens with fruit trees in the Brest and Gomel regions.

During the meeting, the heads of state also paid special attention to the development of cultural and humanitarian ties, the strengthening and expansion of the information and cultural space, the meetings of scientific and creative circles, particularly artists and literature, and the organization of cultural days in both countries.
