Signing of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany

On November 21st 2019, the ceremony of signing the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany on technical cooperation for 2018-2019 was held at the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan with the participation of the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Nematullo Hikmatullozoda and the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany Dr. Andreas Protmann.

At the beginning, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade congratulated the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany, Dr. Andreas Protmann, on being appointed ambassador and and expressed satisfaction with the opportunity to meet and sign the mentioned Agreement.

Then, the agreement was signed by the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan represented by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Federal Republic of Germany represented by the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The purpose of the agreement is implemention of socially importance projects with the grant funds from the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany. The amount allocated under this Agreement amounted to 4.0 million Euros, which will be used to implement the project “Improving the Employment and Profitability of Tajik Labor Migrants”. The aim of this project is to improve the opportunities and increase the profitability of labor migrants, as well as create conditions for their training, taking into consideration the labor market demand and qualifications in the selected regions.

The start of the project “Improving the Employment and Profitability of Tajik Labor Migrants” will be implemented after ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany on technical cooperation for 2018-2019, its validity is 3 years (2020-2022).
