Joint working group on mutual increase in trade and in the range of supplied goods between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan

On March 15, 2021, at the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, a meeting of Joint working group on mutual increase in trade turnover and in the range of supplied goods was held between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan.

 

 The delegation from the Tajik side was headed by the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Abdurahmonzoda Abdurahmon Safarali and from the Kazakh side by the Deputy Minister of Trade and Integration Torebaev Kairat Kalmukametovich.

  During the meeting, which was held in a friendly atmosphere, the sides discussed a number of issues to increase mutual trade, including expanding the range of supplied goods.

   Abdurahmonzoda A.S. noted that due to the wise and far-sighted policy of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, the strategic cooperation of the countries has reached a new level.

   In 2020, the mutual foreign trade turnover with the Republic of Kazakhstan amounted to 909.8 million USD and, due to the pandemic situation in the world, compared to the same period in 2019, decreased by 47.8 million USD, that is equal to 5, 0%. In spite of this, the Republic of Kazakhstan occupies the second place in the structure of foreign trade turnover of the Republic of Tajikistan.

    The sides also raised the issue of creating joint enterprises and wholesale distribution centers in the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan.

   At the end of the meeting, the sides expressed their readiness to strengthen further cooperation.
