Meeting of the Minister of Economic Development and Trade with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of French Republic, Michel Tarran

On March 30, 2021, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin, met with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of French Republic, Michel Tarran in an atmosphere of friendship and brotherhood.

 It was noted that the trade and economic potential of the two countries is still not properly used and that there is a significant opportunity to increase bilateral trade turnover.

    In this regard, a number of proposals were put forward to enhance cooperation, including the creation of favourable conditions to search for markets and new buyers of agricultural products, the establishment of joint enterprises for the processing of cotton fibers, including raw materials, spinning, fabrics and clothing. Development of cooperation in the fields of production, processing and export of precious or semi-precious stones, building stones and other minerals, as well as in the fields of hydropower, viticulture, winemaking and other priority areas was discussed as well.

 At the end of the meeting, the sides expressed readiness to comprehensively expand and make effective use of bilateral cooperation.
