Joint meeting of the Minister of Economic Development and Trade and the Minister of Industry and New Technologies with the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan

 

On June 5, 2021, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin and Minister of Industry and New Technologies Sherali Kabir met with the Deputy Prime Minister- Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Umurzakov Sardor Uktamovich in Dushanbe.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the preparation and conduct of the official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoev to the Republic of Tajikistan at high level.

Zavqizoda Z.A. noted that at the direction of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, for comprehensive preparation at the highest level and consistency of a set of bilateral documents for signing were submitted by the relevant ministries and departments of the republic.

Also during the meeting, the sides reached an agreement to increase bilateral trade to $ 1 billion, increase production capacity for export development and create joint enterprises in free economic zones of the Republic of Tajikistan using the experience of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

It should be noted that in January-April 2021, bilateral trade turnover increased by 30 percent and amounted to USD 133 million.

 The meeting was held in a constructive and friendly atmosphere and the sides expressed their readiness to further expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
