Meeting of the First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Tajikistan

On October 27, 2021, in order to further strengthen trade and economic cooperation, the First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, Solehzoda Ashurboy Abduvohid, met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Tajikistan, Emre Zeki Karagol.

Solehzoda A.A. noted that the development of mutually beneficial cooperation with Turkey is a priority for the Republic of Tajikistan, and thanks to the reasonable and far-sighted policy of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, H.E. Emomali Rahmon and the President of the Republic of Turkey H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, these cooperations have reached a qualitatively new level.

It is gratifying that in the first 9 months of 2021, bilateral trade between the two countries increased by 16.9%, with 58% of its total volume coming from Tajikistan's exports.

At the meeting, the sides discussed topical issues of the trade and economic system of both countries, including the creation of a working group to prepare a roadmap for a gradual increase in trade turnover between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Turkey, the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the free economic zones of the two countries, as well as cooperation in the field of e-commerce and other important issues of trade, economic and investment cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, the sides expressed their readiness to further expand mutually beneficial cooperation and implement the above-mentioned issues.
