The Minister of Economic Development and Trade took part in the 100th meeting of the Economic Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States

On December 8, 2023, the 100th meeting of the Economic Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held in Moscow, the Russian Federation, in which the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin (Head of the delegation), the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Russian Federation Gulmakhmadzoda Davlatshokh and the First Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in the Russian Federation Sharifi Abdulaziz.

It should be noted that, at the direction of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the respected Emomali Rahmon, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin was appointed acting national coordinator for the affairs of the Commonwealth of Independent States. During the meeting, issues of cooperation in the fields of trade and economics, industry, energy, transport, finance, defense and intellectual property were discussed.

One of the important documents was the Action Plan to improve infrastructure and develop international transport corridors passing through the territories of the CIS member countries for the period until 2030, which makes a significant contribution to increasing the efficiency of foreign and transit transport.

Obstacles in mutual trade of the CIS member states were also discussed and recommendations were adopted to eliminate them.

Currently, half of Tajikistan's foreign trade turnover comes from the CIS member states.

At the end, members of the CIS Economic Council made relevant decisions on the agenda of the meeting, some of which were presented for consideration at the next meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS member states, which will be held on May 24, 2024.
