Meeting of the Minister of Economic Development and Trade with the Director General of the Islamic Investment Insurance and Export Credit Corporation (ICIEC)

On April 29, 2024, as part of the annual meetings of the Islamic Development Bank Group in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a meeting was held between the Minister of Economic Development and Trade/Plenipotentiary Representative of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) from the Republic of Tajikistan, Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin, with the General Director of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Insurance for Export Investments and Credits (ICIEC) by Mr. Oussama Abdurrahman Kaysi.

Zavqizoda Z. A. presenting numerous investment opportunities and development of the country’s private sector, appealed to the General Director of the Islamic Corporation for Insurance of Investments and Export Credits with a request to provide insurance and guarantees to finance priority sectors of the national economy, including strengthening the country’s export potential, creating textile enterprises and creation of logistics centers, development of trade, tourism and strengthening the capacity of the private sector.

The parties agreed that the Republic of Tajikistan will take the necessary measures to join this corporation.

In turn, Ussama Abdurahman Kaisi expressed his readiness to implement projects in these areas and further strengthen cooperation.
