Discussion on the development of trade and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and the European Union between the Minister of Economic Development and Trade and the Adviser to the Directorate General for International Cooperation of the Commission of the European Union
On May 30, 2024, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin met with Henrik Hololei, Adviser to the Directorate General for International Cooperation of the Commission of the European Union, and discussed the expansion of cooperation in the fields of trade and economy, industry, green economy, digitalization, energy, transport and logistics, environment and climate change between Tajikistan and the European Union.
At the meeting, Zavqizoda Z. A. noted that the Republic of Tajikistan considers the European Union as a reliable and important development partner for achieving the country's strategic goals and socio-economic development.
At the same time, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade provided detailed information on the achievements of the Republic of Tajikistan in these areas and appealed to the European Union to increase funding for priority sectors of the national economy, including the development of economic and transport corridors, energy, green economy and digitalization.
In turn, Henrik Hololei assessed the achievements of the Republic of Tajikistan in achieving the country's strategic development goals as successful and expressed readiness to support the noted priority sectors in the country.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to further expand bilateral cooperation.
