A Grant Agreement on Trade Facilitation was signed between the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ)
June 5, 2024 at the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade with the participation of the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin and the Director of the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ) Ms. Sabine Olthof within the framework of the agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany on technical cooperation , signed on March 27, 2003 in the city of Berlin of the Federal Republic of Germany, the signing ceremony of the Agreement on Facilitation of Trade Procedures between the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) took place.
The agreement was signed by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Director of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).
The agreement is aimed at simplifying trade and transit procedures, retraining industry workers, conducting pilot and innovative activities on trade facilitation, as well as private sector participation in the decision-making process related to trade facilitation.
It should be noted that this Agreement is of regional importance, its total amount is 6.5 million euros and includes 5 countries of Central Asia, such as the Republic of Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan.
The start of the project to simplify trade procedures in Tajikistan will be implemented after the signing of an Agreement between the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan and the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ) for 3 years, that is, for 2024-2026.
