Meeting of the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade with the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP)
On June 11, 2024, a meeting was held between the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Nuriddinzoda Ahliddin Nuriddin and the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for the Asia-Pacific (ESCAP) Armida Salsia Alishahbana.
Nuriddinzoda Ahliddin Nuriddin welcomed the delegation of guests and noted that strengthening relations within the framework of the UN Special Program for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA) is one of the priorities of the foreign economic policy of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The Republic of Tajikistan chairs the SPECA Working Group on Trade, and today's meeting will discuss issues related to the key prospects for seeking diversification of transit routes, trade and transport facilitation, digitalization and the green economy.
Also link to broader cooperation within the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific and contribute to strengthening the shared vision of SPECA member countries in preparation for the next meeting of its Governing Council scheduled for November 2024 in Dushanbe .
During the meeting, Nuriddinzoda A. N. noted that based on the instructions and instructions of the Founder of Peace and National Unity, the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the respected Emomali Rahmon, in the country in order to strengthen the institutional foundations of the digital economy, develop information and communication infrastructure throughout Tajikistan, digitalize the spheres of the national economy and expand the process of implementing "Electronic A number of significant works are being carried out to simplify trade procedures and create an investment climate. In particular, the concept and program for the development of the "Digital Economy", the Strategy for the Development of the "green economy" in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2023-2037 were adopted and put into effect.
In turn, Ms. Armida Salsia Alishahbana assessed the socio-economic reforms carried out by the Government of the Republic as effective in order to achieve strategic goals and priorities and expressed readiness to increase assistance and support in the direction of ensuring sustainable socio-economic and environmental development.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to further strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation and implement the identified issues.
