Holding the next meeting of the permanent Interdepartmental Headquarters to coordinate the implementation of macroeconomic policy and prevent the impact of potential risks on the national economy

On June 21, 2024, in pursuance of the instructions and instructions of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, respected Emomali Rahmon, in order to reduce the impact of potential risks on the national economy, under the leadership of First Deputy Minister Solehzoda Ashurboy Abduvohid, a regular meeting of the permanent Interdepartmental Headquarters for Coordination was held implementation of macroeconomic policy and preventing the impact of potential risks on the national economy on the topic “Development of non-cash payments and finding ways to solve existing problems in this direction” with the participation of representatives of relevant ministries and departments of the republic.

At the beginning of the meeting, Solehzoda A. A. noted that for the development of non-cash payments in the country, the population’s access to banking services, the emergence of new telephone programs, improvement of banking services, and increasing the financial literacy of the population, the decree of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan “On measures to expand non-cash payments” was approved "and other resolutions of the Government of the Republic, within the framework of which a number of specific measures are provided for the relevant ministries and departments to take the necessary measures.

It was also emphasized that in order to accelerate the pace of development of the country’s economy, improve the standard of living of the population through the use of digital technologies and search for additional sources of development, the Medium-term program for the development of the digital economy in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021-2025 was adopted; for the implementation of the planned measures of this program, it is also important clarify this topic in a timely manner.

During this process, Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan Ikromi Sirojiddin, Deputy Director of the Agency for Innovation and Digital Technologies Bodurshozoda Merali and Head of the Payment System Department of the National Bank of Tajikistan Salahiddinov Shukhrat presented a report on the work done to develop the digital economy, in particular the expansion of non-cash payments, and about solutions to existing problems in this direction.

When discussing the issue of developing non-cash payments, members of the Headquarters discussed and made proposals for the development of non-cash payments.

At the end, based on the results of consideration of the mentioned issue, the Headquarters meeting made the appropriate decisions.
