In accordance with the Order of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, the President of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), Dr. Muhammad Suleiman Al-Jasser was awarded the state honor — “Dusti” (Friendship) Award
In accordance with the Order of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, dated August 14, 2024, No. 847, the President of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), Dr. Muhammad Suleiman Al-Jasser, was awarded the state honor — “Dusti” Award for his significant contribution to the development of the socio-economic sectors of the country. The award was presented on September 4, 2024, by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade – IsDB Governor from Tajikistan, Zavqizoda Z. A. via videoconference.
During the meeting, Zavqizoda Z. A. noted that the awarding of the President of the Islamic Development Bank with the state award on behalf of the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon is evidence of the Bank’s important role in achieving Tajikistan’s strategic development goals.
In turn, the President of the Islamic Development Bank, Dr. Muhammad Suleiman Al-Jasser, expressed his deep gratitude to the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon for the award and confirmed the Bank’s readiness to further expand funding to support the development of Tajikistan’s economic sectors.
As previously reported, during the meeting between the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon and the President of the Islamic Development Bank, Dr. Muhammad Suleiman Al-Jasser on June 10, 2024, an agreement was signed for the construction of the 4th Lot of the Rogun Hydropower Plant for the amount of 150 million dollars. In total, including funds agreed upon with Arab Development Funds, the overall amount of financing reaches 550 million dollars.
It should be emphasized that over the years of Tajikistan’s independence, the Islamic Development Bank Group has successfully implemented a number of significant investment projects amounting to 916 million dollars.
Currently, the Bank continues to provide financial support by investing 237 million dollars in 7 key investment projects, covering sectors such as energy, transportation, irrigation, education, and healthcare.
