A ceremonial meeting dedicated to the 33rd anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan was held at the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan

  

On September 6, 2024, a ceremonial meeting was held at the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan with the participation of the leadership, employees of the central office and departments of the ministry in honor of the celebration of the 33rd anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin congratulated those present with the opening speech on the onset of a significant holiday - State Independence.

Zavqizoda Z. A. noted that all the achievements of the period of independence, national unity and security and improvement of the country were associated precisely with the fruitful activity and strong will of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, and our state has achieved unique successes in the direction of sustainable development and ensuring a decent life for our beloved people of Tajikistan.

In particular, regardless of the influence of external factors, as a result of the successful implementation of state strategies and programs in just 23 years of State independence, the gross domestic product increased from 1.8 billion somoni in 2000 to 130.8 billion somoni in 2023, or 73 times, the gross domestic product per capita from 289 somoni in 2000 to 12.9 thousand somoni in 2023, or 45 times, and the population's cash income from 1 billion somoni in 2000 to 112.7 billion somoni in 2023 increased 112 times. During the period of independence, the poverty level decreased from 83% to 21.2%, more than 2,400 km of roads and more than 2 thousand megawatts of new energy capacity, 3,648 new educational institutions, 2,958 new medical institutions were built and commissioned.

The employees of the ministry were instructed not to lose political vigilance and security and to constantly strive to protect and strengthen the achievements of State independence, especially ensuring the sustainability of macroeconomic indicators and the performance of official duties in their work and personal activities.

At the end of the event, a number of employees of the ministry, subordinate institutions and departments of the economy of cities and districts were awarded by the leadership for their worthy contribution to the socio-economic development of the country.
