Study visit of the official delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan to the free economic zones of the Republic of Uzbekistan

  

September 8-14, 2024, based on the consent of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – The Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, dear Emomali Rahmon, and the fulfillment of the instructions of the Head of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan dated August 28, 2024, No. 22/10-55 by the official delegation of the country, consisting of employees of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Ministries of Economic Development and Trade, Justice, Finance, Foreign Affairs and the Tax Committee headed by the first Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan - Solehzoda Ashurboy Abduvohid made a study trip to the free economic zones of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

 

During the visit, Solekhzoda A. A. met with Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Gulamov Shokhrukh Khasanovich.

It was noted that thanks to the wise policy and supreme political will of the leaders of both countries, the Founder of Peace and national unity, the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the respected Emomali Rahmon and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the respected Mirziyoyev Shavkat Miromonovich, the cooperation of the two friendly and neighboring countries has reached the level of strategic partnership.

In turn, Gulamov Sh. Kh. provided detailed information about the free economic zones (FEZ) of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It was noted that currently 29 free (special) economic zones with a total area of more than 9,000 hectares have been created in the Republic of Uzbekistan, in which more than 1,000 enterprises are registered. Of the total number of registered enterprises, 654 enterprises are currently engaged in production activities. Since the beginning of its activity, the volume of investments in all FEZs of Uzbekistan has amounted to 3.7 billion US dollars, and more than 60 thousand jobs have been created in them. Since the beginning of the activity, products worth more than 960 million US dollars have been exported.

Also during the visit, the official delegation of the country visited the free economic zones "Angren", "Urgut", "Navoi", "Jizzakh", "Termez" and the free trade zone "Airit", got acquainted with the activities of manufacturing enterprises, investment opportunities, best practices in the organization and management of these zones.
