Meeting of the Minister of Economic Development and Trade with the Chief Operating Officer of the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC)

On September 18, 2024, a meeting was held between the Minister of Economic Development and Trade/Islamic Development Bank Governor from Tajikistan, Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin, and the Chief Operating Officer of the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC), Nazim Nordali, who is on a working visit in Tajikistan.

Zavqizoda Z. A. presented the extensive investment opportunities in various sectors of the country's national economy and requested the Chief Operating Officer of ITFC to increase funding in priority sectors of the national economy under the Cooperation Agreement between Tajikistan and ITFC. Specifically, this included enhancing the country’s export capacity, establishing textile enterprises and halal production facilities, constructing hydropower and solar power plants, building logistic centers, as well as developing trade, tourism, and banking.

It is worth mentioning that, to date, the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation has completed investment projects in the Republic of Tajikistan amounting to 182 million USD, with an additional 3 projects valued at 18 million USD currently in progress.

In turn, the Chief Operating Officer of ITFC, Mr. Nazim Nordali, expressed his readiness to invest in the implementation of the specified projects and further expand cooperation.
