Meeting of the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan with the delegation of the International Monetary Fund

  

On September 30, 2024, a meeting was held in the building of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade between the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin and the head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission in Tajikistan, Mr. Matthew Gartner.

 

Zavqizoda Z. A. presented to Mr. Matthew Gartner information on the results of the country's socio-economic development for eight months of 2024 and noted that in January-August 2024, despite the difficult situation in the global economy, as a result of the implementation of the instructions and orders of the Founder of Peace and National Unity, the Leader of the Nation - President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the respected Emomali Rahmon, as well as the timely implementation of the country's strategic goals, the Government of the Republic provided appropriate decisions, programs and strategies for the development of the national economy.

It was noted that in accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan dated June 1, 2024 No. 328 "On the forecast of the main macroeconomic indicators of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2025-2027", the country's economic growth in 2024-2025 is estimated at 8.1% and 8.4%, respectively. As a result, Zavqizoda Z. A. noted that given the rapid pace of development of the country's economy over the eight months of 2024, the International Monetary Fund's forecasts for Tajikistan for 2024-2025 should be revised and increased.
