The achievements of Tajikistan on artificial intelligence direction were presented in Doha city of the State of Qatar.

  

On October 2, 2024, in the city of Doha of the State of Qatar an official delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan, chaired by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin, took part and spoke at the Asian Cooperation Dialogue Forum under the Theme: “Artificial Intelligence and New Business Models.

 

Zavqizoda Z.A. noted that the digitalization of the national economy and artificial intelligence (AI) is a priority for the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honourable Emomali Rahmon and in this regard, the government has implemented several significant initiatives.

Notably, the Strategy for Artificial Intelligence Development in the Republic of Tajikistan until 2040 and the Medium-Term Program for the Digital Economy Development in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021-2025 approved and are currently implementing.

In addition, an overview was provided on the artificial intelligence development in Tajikistan, including the establishment of zypl.ai, the  first startup in the country, which successfully operates in 12 markets worldwide, the launch of the AI Academy under the Stanford University program in Tajikistan, and the introduction of artificial intelligence major in seven higher education institutions.

Zavqizoda Z.A. noted that the size of global AI market is around 215 billion dollars in 2024 and is expected to grow to about 2 trillion dollars by 2030. He added that by 2030       the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) could lead to an increase in global GDP by 14% or about 16 trillion dollars by 2030.

In conclusion of his speech, Zavqizoda Z. A., along with the achieved results, presented specific proposals for the effective implementation of the goals and priorities of the Government of the country related to the AI, as well as proposed specific initiatives and called for enhanced investment in AI development.

It should be noted that the Forum was attended by members of the official delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan, including the Chairman of the State Committee on Investment and State Property Management Rahimzoda S.N., the Chairman of the Committee of Youth Affairs and Sports Gulmakhmadzoda Z.A., the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Jumakhonzoda J.J., as well as representatives from member countries of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue, major global companies, entrepreneurs, investors, and experts in the directions of the digital economy and artificial intelligence
