Working meeting of the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan with the Minister State for Foreign Trade of the United Arab Emirates

  

On October 2, 2024, in the city of Doha, State of Qatar, within the framework of the trade forum of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue on Cooperation , a working meeting was held between the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin and the Minister of State for Foreign Trade of the United Arab Emirates, Thani bin Ahmed al Zeyoudi.

 

It was noted that the expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and the United Arab Emirates is under the primary attention of the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Exellency Emomali Rahmon.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of expanding trade and economic cooperation and bilateral investments.

Zavqizoda Z. A. called on his colleague to assist in the implementation of priority projects in the fields of industry, energy, transport, artificial intelligence and the construction of logistics and tourism infrastructure in order to attract UAE investments.

It was noted that in 2023, the volume of bilateral foreign trade turnover increased by 84 percent, and in the eight months of 2024 by 1.1 percent, but there are still many untapped opportunities.

At the end the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to further expand trade and economic cooperation.
