Investment and economic opportunities presented at the Tajik-Kuwaiti Industrial, Investment and Economic Forum

On November 4, 2024, the Tajik-Kuwaiti Industrial, Investment and Economic Forum was held in Kuwait City as part of the official visit of the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon.

 

At this Forum, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavqizoda Z. A. presented investment and economic opportunities of Tajikistan, Minister of Industry and New Technologies Sherali Kabir presented industrial opportunities and Chairman of the Committee for Tourism Development Kamoliddin Muminzod presented the country's tourism opportunities.

Zavqizoda Z. A. noted that thanks to the wise policy of the leaders of the two countries, the Founder of Peace and national unity, the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the respected Emomali Rahmon and the Emir of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jabir Al-Sabah, relations between the two countries have constantly developed and reached a high level.

In addition, Zavqizoda Z. A. stressed that despite the tense situation in the modern world and the direct impact of external negative factors on the national economy, over the past twenty years the growth rate of the national economy has averaged 7.6%, and international financial organizations have assessed Tajikistan by the average annual economic growth rate as a country with a fast-growing economy. He noted that 75 percent of the country's population has a young and educated workforce, as well as 98 percent of the energy produced is green energy.

Zavqizoda Z. A. expressed that Tajikistan has a favorable investment climate, and the country has a large infrastructure and potential for investment in key sectors, including energy, agriculture, light industry, pharmaceuticals, tourism, digitalization and artificial intelligence. He also pointed to a number of tax and customs benefits offered to foreign investors, especially in free economic zones, adding that the comprehensive support of investors from the state is one of the main priorities of Tajikistan's economic policy.

In this regard, the participants were presented with specific projects in priority sectors of the national economy, which Kuwaiti investors expressed their willingness to invest in some of them.

This initiative will help strengthen economic cooperation and attract foreign investment into the country's economy.

It should be noted that the Forum was attended by members of the official delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan, Minister of Finance Kakhhorzoda F. S., Minister of Labor, Migration and Employment Hasanzoda G. K., as well as representatives of large Kuwaiti companies, entrepreneurs and investors.
