The official delegation of Tajikistan took part in the consultative meeting of the governors of the Islamic Development Bank Group member countries dedicated to the discussion of the 10-year Strategy of the Bank for 2026-2035
On January 12, 2025, the official delegation of Tajikistan led by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade/Plenipotentiary Representative of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) from the Republic of Tajikistan Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin, together with the First Deputy Minister of Finance, Alternate Governor of the IDB Majidi Yusuf Khairullo, took part and spoke at the consultative meeting of the governors of the IDB member countries dedicated to the discussion of the 10-year Strategy of the Bank for 2026-2035, which was held in the city of Medina, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Zavqizoda Z. A., on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, expressed gratitude to the leadership of the IDB Group and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, noting that thanks to the wise policy of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, respected Emomali Rahmon and the development of bilateral cooperation, the IDB in Tajikistan financed a number of priority projects in such areas as energy, transport, education and healthcare, and made a significant contribution to achieving the country's strategic goals.
During the speech, priority projects for the development of Tajikistan's infrastructure and economy were proposed, including the creation of a logistics center for packaging and export of environmentally friendly agricultural products, the development of a green economy, the construction of new energy capacities, especially the Rogun project as an important regional initiative, the creation of technology parks and e-commerce, industrialization, ensuring food security and strengthening export potential, restoring irrigation systems and constructing a sewerage system in the Panj region, implementing the second phase of the Guliston-Farkhor-Panj-Dusti project, as well as the development and financing of the Guliston-Kulyab project.
As part of the event, Zavqizoda Z. A. met with the President of the IDB Group Dr. Muhammad Al-Jasser and requested a significant increase in funding for priority projects.
In turn, the President of the IDB Group expressed readiness to further expand cooperation to achieve sustainable development goals and increase funding for priority projects in Tajikistan.
It should be noted that to date, the IDB Group has invested more than $ 900 million in the national economy of Tajikistan.
