Meeting of the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan with the Permanent Coordinator and Head of the Office of the United Nations Permanent Coordinator in the Republic of Tajikistan

  

On January 30, 2025, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin, met with the Permanent Coordinator of the United Nations (UN), Mrs. Kavilmadam Ramaswami Parvati and the Head of the Office of the UN Permanent Coordinator, Kristin Tovmasyan.

 

Zavqizoda Z. A. thanked the UN representatives for mutually beneficial cooperation and contribution to the sustainable economic development of the country and noted that thanks to the wise policy of the Founder of Peace and National Unity, the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the respected Emomali Rahmon, Tajikistan over the past 5 years, regardless of the influence of external factors, as a result of the implementation of economic reforms, government programs and The anti-crisis action plan has achieved a number of significant successes in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

During the meeting, the parties discussed bilateral cooperation to help finance the country's strategic goals, provide financial and technical assistance to strengthen the national system for monitoring and evaluating the implementation of strategic planning documents, such as the Medium–term Development Program for 2021-2025, and the development and presentation of the Medium-term Development Program for 2026-2030.

It was noted that in the Medium-term Development Program for 2026-2030, priority attention should be paid to the development of human capital, strengthening production capacities and using modern technologies, organizing the production of competitive goods and products with high added value, linking science with production and forming an economy based on knowledge, invention and innovation.

Ms. Kavilmadam Ramaswami Parvati expressed the readiness of the United Nations and its agencies to contribute to the implementation of the goals and priorities of the development of the Republic of Tajikistan.
