Official delegation of Tajikistan met with the management of the Kuwait Fund for the Development of Arab Economy

  

On February 3, 2025, in Kuwait City, the official delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan, headed by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin, met with the Director General of the Kuwait Fund for the Development of Arab Economy Walid Al-Bahar.

Zavqizoda Z.A. expressed gratitude to the management of the Fund for their continued support and significant contribution to the development of the country's infrastructure, especially noting the financing of the construction of the Rogun HPP, which plays an important role in strengthening Tajikistan's energy security.

It was noted that to date, the Kuwait Fund for the Development of Arab Economy has allocated about 200 million US dollars to finance projects in sectors such as transport, energy and infrastructure in Tajikistan.

In response to a request from the Tajik side, the Kuwait Fund for the Development of Arab Economy expressed its readiness to invest in the implementation of investment projects in the country's priority sectors.

At the end of the meeting, the parties assessed the importance of further developing cooperation and expanding new investments.

The official delegation of Tajikistan consists of the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin (head of the delegation), Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to Kuwait Zubaydzoda Zubaydullo, First Deputy Minister of Finance Majidi Yusuf, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sharifzoda Farrukh, Deputy Minister of Energy and Water Resources Khudobakhsh Sharif, First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management Yusufzoda Farrukh, Department of External Relations of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Ramazonov Bakhodur, Deputy Chairman of the Tourism Development Committee Salimzoda Ziyedullo, Deputy Director of the Export Agency Jamolzoda Abdughaffor, Head of the Department of Foreign Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade Jovida Ikromi, as well as the Head of the Department of International Relations of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies Timur Yeribek discussed during the visit issues of expanding investment cooperation and implementing strategic projects with the Kuwaiti side.
