The Official Delegation of Tajikistan Held a Meeting with the Executive Director of the Kuwait Investment Authority

  

On February 4, 2025, in Kuwait City, an official delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan, led by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin, met with the Executive Director of the Kuwait Investment Authority, Saud Al-Sabah.

 

At the beginning of the meeting, Zavqizoda Z. A. noted that the results of the high-level negotiations between the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, and the Emir of Kuwait, His Excellency Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, during the state visit on November 3-4, 2024, significantly contributed to the development of bilateral cooperation.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the expansion of investment cooperation and the implementation of joint projects.

The Tajik side proposed the establishment of a Joint Investment Fund between Tajikistan and Kuwait to support major investment projects.

In this regard, Tajikistan presented specific projects to attract direct Kuwaiti investments in priority sectors of the economy, including green energy, aviation and tourism infrastructure, industry, and agriculture.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their interest in strengthening investment cooperation and developing mechanisms for project implementation.

The official delegation of Tajikistan included Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin (head of delegation), Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to Kuwait Zubaydzoda Zubaydullo, First Deputy Minister of Finance Majidi Yusuf Khairullo, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sharifzoda Farrukh, Deputy Minister of Energy and Water Resources Khudobakhsh Sharif, First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Investment and State Property Management Yusufzoda Farrukh, Head of the Foreign Economic Department of the External Relations of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Ramazonov Bahodur, Deputy Chairman of the Tourism Development Committee Salimzoda Ziyodullo, Deputy Director of the Export Agency Jamolzoda Abdughaffor, Head of the Foreign Economic Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade Jovid Ikromi, Head of the Department of International Relations of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies Timur Yoribek, and Head of the Africa Division of the Department for Middle Eastern and African Countries of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sharifzoda Nizomjon.

Meetings of the Tajik delegation with representatives of relevant ministries and agencies of Kuwait are ongoing.
