The Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan met with the new Director of the Korea International Cooperation Agency KOICA in Tajikistan
On February 20, 2024, a meeting took place at the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan between Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin and the new Director of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Tajikistan, Mr. Kang Seung-hoon.
At the beginning of the meeting, Zavqizoda Z. A. sincerely congratulated Mr. Kang Seung-hoon on his appointment to the new position and expressed confidence that cooperation between Tajikistan and the Republic of Korea in the fields of economic development and digital innovations would be further strengthened.
It was noted that thanks to the wise and far-sighted policies of the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, cooperation is actively developing today in various directions with international partners, including KOICA, which is one of Tajikistan's key international partners in sustainable development and innovations.
During the meeting, Zavqizoda Z. A. emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation within the framework of existing KOICA projects, calling for the implementation of six major investment and infrastructure projects in areas such as the construction of modern greenhouses, coastal reinforcement and irrigation management, development of science and research, construction of railways, and establishment of substations for power supply, with a total cost of 53 million dollars.
In turn, Kang Seung-hoon thanked for the warm reception and expressed KOICA's readiness to support the comprehensive implementation of the ministry's proposals. In this regard, the agency will focus all its resources and capabilities on the realization of these projects.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue regular dialogue to ensure ongoing monitoring of project implementation and further strengthen economic cooperation and investments.
