He noted that in accordance with the wise policy of the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, esteemed Emomali Rahmon, economists make a significant contribution to addressing the country's most important socio-economic challenges and participate in ensuring sustainable economic development, which, in turn, contributes to improving the living standards of the population.

Zavqizoda Z. A. emphasized that over the past five years, despite the impact of two serious global crises and external factors, the average annual growth of the national economy reached 7.7 percent (8.5 percent excluding 2020, the year of the COVID-19 pandemic), which is 0.7 (1.5) percentage points higher than the figure for the previous five-year period (2015–2019).

In particular, in 2024, the volume of the country's gross domestic product (GDP) amounted to 153.4 billion somoni, with real growth rates reaching 8.4%. The inflation rate in 2024 was 3.6%, which is 0.2 percentage points lower than in 2023 (3.8%). During this period, inflation was primarily driven by rising prices for food products by 3%, non-food goods by 4%, and services by 4.8%.

International financial organizations have assessed Tajikistan as a country with high economic growth rates.

Today, employees of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade are guided by the Address of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, esteemed Emomali Rahmon, to the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan: “The highest goal of the state and government is to ensure sustainable economic development through increasing the efficiency of resource utilization and opportunities, seeking new sources of growth, developing science, education, healthcare, human potential, and thus continuously improving the level and quality of life of the glorious people of Tajikistan.”
