69th Session of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) on Promoting Circular Economy and Sustainable use of natural resources
On April 20-21, 2021, with the participation of the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Abdurahmonzoda Abdurahmon Safarali the 69th Session of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) on Promoting Circular Economy and sustainable use of natural resources was held by video conference.
The aim of the session is to exchange views on promoting a circular economy and sustainable use of natural resources in the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe region, as well as achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
Abdurakhmonzoda A.S. speaking about the issues of the circular economy, sustainable development goals, as well as the accelerated industrialization of the country, noted that a number of strategic documents, including the National Development Strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan for the period up to 2030, based on the instructions of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan H.E. Emomali Rahmon was developed, which identified priorities for strengthening and simplifying trade, promoting exports and diversification, improving climate investments and integration into the regional and global economy.
At the same time, it was noted that the Program of Accelerated Industrialization of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2020-2025 was developed in order to fulfill the tasks set in the Address of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation H.E. Emomali Rahmon of December 26, 2018, «On the main directions of domestic and foreign policy» taking into account the importance of industry in solving economic and social problems and creating new jobs, the accelerated industrialization of the country was declared the fourth national goal.
The event was also attended by delegations of member countries at the ministerial level, deputy ministers and representatives of international organizations.
