Tajik delegation participated in the Economic Forum within the framework of the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia in Turkmenbashi, Turkmenistan
On 6 August 2021, during the state visit of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan H.E. Mr. Emomali Rahmon to Turkmenistan and the consultative meeting of the heads of state of Central Asia in the tourist region "Awaza" The Economic Forum of Central Asian Countries was held in the city of Turkmenbashi, where a delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan headed by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavqizoda Z.A.
The Forum was opened by the Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdymukhamedov.
Zavqizoda Z.A. noted that the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan H.E. Mr. Emomali Rahmon pays priority attention to the development of trade, economic and investment cooperation with the countries of Central Asia.
In this regard, it was noted that the Central Asian region already has experience of mutually beneficial cooperation and Tajikistan is taking measures to implement intergovernmental programs of trade and economic cooperation, as well as several roadmaps to increase trade turnover with the countries of Central Asia. As a result, the share of trade in goods with Central Asian countries in the country's foreign trade turnover has increased to 28.3%.
Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin presented the broad investment opportunities of the Republic of Tajikistan in the trade, economic, industrial, agricultural and tourism spheres, the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan Azim Ibrohim in the fields of transport and logistics, as well as the Minister of Energy and Water Resources Juma Daler Shofaqir in the water and energy spheres.
In addition to 20 interstate agreements signed two days ago, four agreements and memorandums have been signed by enterprises and institutions of the country in the framework of this forum with their Turkmen partners, including the import of 50,000 tons of petroleum coke and 50,000 tons of aviation fuel, liquefied gas, chemical products and mineral fertilizers to Tajikistan and the export of 10,000 tons of aluminum per year to Turkmenistan, as well as the provision of tariffs for the transport and transit of goods by rail.
At the Forum there was a broad exchange of views and discussion of trade, economic and investment cooperation in the Central Asia and deepening of integration processes in priority sectors of the economies of the countries.
At the end of the meeting, the Tajik delegation expressed confidence that the results of today's forum will contribute to the further expansion of trade, economic and investment cooperation.
